Sassafras Mountain/ Stumphouse Tunnel/ UNCA

To start it's been a week since I had my UNCA orientation.

I'm starting to get excited about attending UNC Asheville in the Fall.

Last week we also visited Sassafras Mountain...

And Stumphouse Tunnel.

They were both pretty cool to explore.

And.. they are both in South Carolina if anyone feels like looking them up.

Happy Exploring!

Updates

I know I haven't posted in a while...

It's been kind of crazy. haha

So... here we go... a couple updates squished into one post.

There was prom...

This was a picture from the night of prom.

We ended up going with a group...

and didn't know until we met them that we were going in a stretched hummer. haha

Then there was graduation...

It started outside...

Then the clouds got darker and it started to rain.

We finished the ceremony inside after we had gotten soaked.

Kind of blurry but... this is me standing in line about to get my diploma.

I guess the last event was going to Mammoth Caves in Kentucky.

If you are ever in the Kentucky area...

This is not only fun to explore but most of the tours are safe for little ones. =]

White Owls

I was clicking away on Stumble Upon when I found this video:

A beautiful animation to go with a great song.

This is called White Owls by Josh Garrels.

Josh Garrels is a folk artist and the founder of independent label Small Voice Records.

Just thought I would share his music with you.

Happy Birthday Yellow Bus!

I know I haven't posted much lately...

But today is the second anniversary of this blog!

The post may have become fewer and fewer...

but The Yellow Bus is still going.

Hopefully I will be able to post more in April.

Hope everyone is having a nice day!

Snow

This past Saturday... we finally received some snow!

Although it didn't last very long and there wasn't that much on the ground...

Nate still enjoyed watching it fall.

Here's a Cardinal watching the snow fall too.

Have a nice day!

Appalachian State University

This last Monday my family and I visited Appalachian State University.

Since most of the buildings were not opened...

we just walked around and got a feel for the campus.

While Isaac played with some of the statues...

Nate was surprised and excited to see some snow,

since we haven't had any where we live.

I really enjoyed getting to see the campus...

(it is definitely on my list of possible colleges).

I also found out on the 25th that I have been accepted to Appalacian. =]

Quilting

After 3 1/4 months...

I finally finished my quilt for my Graduation Project.

I started out with this picture...

I didn't find an exact pattern for it so I just made it up as I went...

and ended up with this:

It's hand quilted...

the border has stripes...

and it has a ton of triangles in it.

I guess I really did know what I was getting myself into with those three things..

but it turned out better then I could have imagined.

Also... a thank you to Lynn Easler, my mentor, and Debbie Beaver for helping me with this.

It was so fun to work with them!

Now all I have to do is present my project tomorrow and I will be completely done.

Yay!
